our thoughts and prayers go out to brian and his family with the loss of his wife candice boyle.  the second teacher to pass on this year for west branch local schools.  after giving birth to her daughter gracie, candice suffered a brain bleed and never recovered, she passed away last night.

with muslim nations fighting for more freedom in their daily lives, what are you thoughts?

i have officially lost count on the 2hr delays here in northeast ohio.  i remember as a kid loving these days, but as a parent not so much.  while i hate to see the kids making up days in june, is it really necessary to have kids out at the bus in frigid temps.  there are parents that work or just dont care for in some cases whether their children are standing out there (without the heat of the car to wait in).  we have to meet a certain amount of days for school, im beginning to think it should be hours.  how many hours have the kids missed with the 2hr delays this year?  on a calamity day note, the governor has indeed put a rush on the new bill for our 5 days to be reinstated, so here in warrior country, providing we dont have anymore snow, we have hit our max.

so now that we have reached the norm of 5 snow days here in warrior country, and winter doesnt seem to be letting up anytime soon. is it pretty clear to everyone in the state of ohio that changing the snow day count from 5 to 3 was a bit, well, stupid?

almost there again this year! bring on the jets! STEELERS KICK SOME, well you fill in the blank with your own choice phrase :)
GO STEELERS!!!

so for christmas we (santa) got clayton a butterfly habitat.  you send for your catepillar larvae and watch the whole process from beginning to well i suppose the end at some point.  we observed the catepillars growing and feeding and eventually forming individual chrysali, which might i add was rather fascinating even from a 30 somethings point of view!  it took a good 10 days before the butterflies began to emerge from each chrysalis, HOW COOL!  we now have 5 lady monarch butterflies!

oh, and on a side note, the first shipment of catepillars were over a week late so we had new ones shipped out!  so at this point, the catepillars are 1-2 days shy of forming their chrysali!

what a fun aspect of life to share with the kids!

i honestly forgot all about our blog page after getting so hooked with facebook.  sorry bloggers :)

well, since it has been since may of 2009 since recent pictures were posted and december of 2008 since an actual posting was written, here it is.  trust me, alot has been going on!

the kids are growing and finding themselves in many ways.  clayton has a love for music, art and nature.  he is happy to sit and do hidden picture pages for hours or reading a book.  he went to church camp for the first time last july and loved it! he can hardly wait to go again this year!  it amazes me that he is old enough to do the things he does!  he is now in 2nd grade and while he enjoys the idea of school, the workload that comes with it is a bit of a struggle for him.  i must admit, while i was skeptical of sending him this year as opposed to homeschooling him, the faculty at west branch’s damascus elementary have been fabulous!  every little stride in his journey is one piece of his puzzle that is complete!

connor is still living it up as an outdoorsy boy.  he loves being outside whether playing or swimming.  he really did a fabulous job learning to swim last summer in our pool.  he played soccer as well and he loved.  he is finding his own here lately.  he is maturing before my eyes in a sense that i am having a hard time finding my sweet baby boy in him.  he is very intelligent in the way he speaks and thinks.  he has the greatest imagination out there, i cherish every story he tells me :)   he is looking forward to his next adventure of kindergarten!  he is really excited to go to the big kid school!

kati renee, oh my what a princess she is!  never in my wildest dreams could i have invisioned such a more beautiful and fun little girl.  she loves to play barbies, do my hair, shope, color, dress up, and snuggle with mommy.  she loves everything about being a princess, i almost wonder if she will think she is a princess way down the road, lol!  she will be starting preschool next year and i can hardly believe it!  it seems like she was just brought home from the hospital in her cute little sundress.  it is a constant reminder that life is ever changing with the coming of each new day.

we got a dog last spring as well, otis (aka odie).  he is a pure bred golden retriever and what a hoot.  he is doing well in the family, the kids absolutely can not get enough of him!  jazzy, well, he is not at all fond of the idea that odie is here, lol!  along with odie, came our bunnies as well.  they are in order of arrival, brownie (sept 09 to clayton), baby1 (spring ’10 to kati) and baby2 (sept ’10 to connor).  they are adorable to watch and the boys are learning the responsiblities that come with having their

ok, now you can see some updated pics of the kids at least!  i will post some updates later!  i promise!!!

miss kati has successfully popped her first two teeth through her gums. she now has two white lines on her bottom gum. TOO CUTE!!! it appears also that her gums are a bit swollen right next door to the new additions. time will tell how quickly she gets these two. if she follows her big brother clayton, she will probably end up will all her teeth by the time she is a year old. connor however didnt even manage his first tooth until almost 10 months. funny how different they are.
